I. v. To talk (on) incessantly, argue doggedly and tiresomely, to carp, wrangle, criticise (Sh. a.1838 Jam. MSS. XI. 221, 1908 Jak. (1928) jarg, 1914 Angus Gl.; I.Sc. 1974).Abd. 1958 People's Jnl. (8 Nov.):

II. n. Persistent or repetitive talk, gen. of a nagging, critical or tiresome sort (Sh. 1908 Jak. (1928), Sh. 1974).
