1. A very small proprietor. (Obs. in this sense.)Rxb. 1798 R. Douglas Agric. of Roxb. 15:
Acrer. “Lesser commoners, including those small proprietors, known by the provincial names of acrerers [sic], portioners, and feuers.”
2. One who is paid by the acre, a piece-worker.Bnff.2 1928:
