Labour, Laubour, n. Also : labor(e, -ure; labyr; laubour(r)e, -or(e, -ur; lawbour, -or(e, -ur(e; laubir, -yr, -er, lawbir. [ME. labor, -our(e, -ur (a 1300), OF. labor, -our, L. labor.]
1. Work of any kind, esp. toilsome or laborious work, toil; also, exertion, effort, more generally.Also hand-labour and see also handy-labour, husband-lauboure.Man of laubour, a working-man (= Laborious a. 3).(1) 1456 Hay II. 125/10.
