Pioné, Pyoné, n. Also: pyné. [e.m.E. and late ME. pyony, -any(e (Prompt. Parv.), pionye (15th c.), 15th c. F. pyonie, piony, etc., L. pæōnia. Cf. OE. peonie, f. late L. peōnia.] A peony, the flower or plant. Also rose pione (pyne), ? a species of peony distinguished by its red flowers. —1513 Doug. vii. xii. 158.
