Top-annual, -annuell, n. [Top n.1 and Annual n. or adj.] An annual rent payable out of the rent of a building as distinct from the land it stands on (cf. Ground-annual(l n., Grund-annuall n.). —1597 Skene Verb. S. s.v. Annuell.
Top annuell is ane certaine dewtie given and disponed furth of onie bigged tenement, or land, of the quhilk tenement the propertie remains with the disponer & he is onelie oblished to pay the said annuell
