Ȝerisday, n. [ME yeeres dai (Gower), ȝeres day (c1450), an anniversary, ME and OE ᵹeresday (Trevisa), ᵹeares dæᵹe (a1122), in the following sense.] The first day of the year, New Year's Day. Cf. New-ȝer(e n. 2 a (2). — 1521–2 Dundee B. Ct. I 68b (13 Jan.).
