Bathstoff, Baithstoif, n. [e.m.E. bathstove, -stoave (1591). MLG. bade-, bad stove (ON. and Icel. baðstofa, Sw. badstuga, Dan. badstue).] A bath or bathroom. —1562 6th Rep. Hist. MSS. App. 648/2 (ane baithstoif). 1587-99 Hume 159/100 (when he is purified in the bathstoffs).
