Burlat, Burlet, n. Also: birlat, berlat, burlit. [F. bourlet (and bourrelet), a circular pad, spec. one on the shoulder of a cape.] A round padded portion of, or addition to, a garment, saddle, etc. (Cf. Burr n.)1473 Treas. Acc. I. 74.
