Dimissioun, -ion(e, n. Also: dimmissioun, -ion. [Late ME. dymyssion, dimission (1495(, L. dīmissio. Cf. Demissioun.] The action of giving up or laying down (an office, possession, etc.). Freq. coupled with resignatioun.1507 Reg. Privy S. I. 213/2.
