Pense, n. [L. pensum a piece of work assigned, task, mod. Eng. (1705, 1880) pensum charge, duty, school-task, mod. Sc. pense study, task.] An act or spell of studying (a school-lesson). —1640 Dundonald Par. Rec. 465.
