Factorie, -ory, n. Also: factorye, -oury, -urie. [f. Factour,n. Also e.m.E. (1631) and earlier (1582) in different sense.] Authority granted to a person to act as factor for another. 1558-66 Knox II. 298.
The Erle of Arrane was discharged of Sanctandrois and Dunfermeling, whairwith befoir, be verteu of a factorie, he had intromitted 1575 Rec. Convention of Royal Burghs I. 41.
