Gentilly, adv. Also: gentily, -illie, -ellie, -ely, gentlelie, gentlie. [ME. gentilly, -illiche (13 … ), f. Gentil(l,a.] In a gentle manner, chiefly in older senses of the adj.c1450-2 Howlat 319.
