Hurt, v. Also: hourt. P.t. and p.p. hurt(e, hwrt(e, hort, hourt, howrt, hirt. [ME. hurte (c 1205), p.t. hurte, later (15th c.) hurted, p.p. (y)hurt, later hurted, app. OF. hurter (F. heurter), to bring into violent collision, to knock or strike together.]
