Keddie, n. [Cf. late ME. cad n. (c 1450), cade (1483), and kod-lomb (c 1475), e.m.E. and mod. Eng. cade and cade lamb; also mod. Orkn. and Shetl. dial. kaddie, caddie, and caddie lamb, but not known in mainland Sc.; origin obscure.] A lamb brought up by hand, a pet lamb. —1597 Misc. Spald. C. I. 129.
