Lancepissat, n. [e.m.E. lancepezzade (1578), lans- and -pes(s)ade, -pesata, etc., MF. lance(s)pessade, in the same sense, lt. lancia spezzata, one of a (prince's) bodyguard. Cf. Lanceprezed,n.] An officer of the lowest rank, an under-corporal, lance-corporal. Also transf. —1561 Treas. Acc. XI. 83.
