Makles, Maikles, a. Also: mack-, mayk-, meak-. [ME. (a 1225) and e.m.E. makeles, f. Mak n.1: cf. Machles. After the 16th c. only Sc. and north. Eng. as makeless, maikless.]Only in verse.
