Mastic, n. Also: masti(c)k. [ME. masty(c)k (1398), -ik, e.m.E. mastic, F. mastic, late L. mastichum, L. masticha, etc.] The gum or resin, mastic (used in medicine and as an adhesive). Also fig., and comb. in oyle mastick and mastik tree. —1568 Skeyne Descr. Pest 38.
