Moabite, -beit, n. [ME. (Wyclif) and e.m.E. Moabite, L. Mōabīta.] A Moabite, one of the people of Moab; also, as in the G. Ball. quot., applied opprobriously to the Roman Catholics. (The Bann. MS. quot. is f. a translation, and the G. Ball. one f. an adaptation, of Ps. lxxxiii.) — a1568 Bann. MS. 14b/19.
