Palm(e)-fair, n. In the south-west: An annual fair held immediately following Palm Sunday; ‘a two-day fair formerly beginning on the fifth Monday in Lent’ (SND, s.v. Palm n.2 2 (4)). (Cf. also Palm(e n.1 4 and Palme-sonday-fayre.) —1585 Kirkcudbr. B. Rec. 204.
