Pelar, -er, n.1 Also: peil(l)er, peillour. [f. Pele v.1 2, 3 and 5: cf. north. e.m.E. (once) pillar (v.r. pyllare) vellicator (Cath. Angl.), and Pelour n.] a. One who peels, in sense 3 a of Pele v.1 b. One who unpacks bulk goods for sale, hence, a seller of bulk goods: see Pele v.1 5. Also pakkar and pelar, see Pakkar n.1 b. —a. 14.. Acts I. 342/1.
