Also in the later dial. of Shetland as rental, -el or as rendall, -ell in rigga-rendal.] Rundale. = Rindale, Rundal(e.In collocation with rig, in various constructions.(In) (rin)rig (and) rendale, rig in rendale, rendale rigs, a kind of land use, found in Orkney and Shetland, in which ‘the tenants held their land in a number of rigs and strips or patches scattered amongst those of their neighbours, or sometimes in individual groups of rigs’ A.
