Restangne, v. [Obs. F. restagner (OED), L. restagnāre, to overflow. Cf. Restagnat(e v., also later Sc. restagn to dam up (water).] intr. To overflow in consequence of being dammed up. —1630 Reg. Privy C. 2 Ser. III 487.
