(Riding-skirt,) Ryding-skirt, Riding-skirth, n. [Riding vbl. n. and Skirt n. 1. The only example recorded by OED is in Sir Walter Scott's Redgauntlet (1824), where it is an item of male dress.] A skirt worn for riding. —1561 Treas. Acc. XI 66.
