Rud(e)mes, n. Also: ruid-, rood-; ruds-, ruids- and rudismasse, ruidsmis. [e.m.E. roode masse (1545); Rud(e n.1 and Mes n.1] = Rud(e)-day n.Chiefly in Dumfries and Galloway, where appar. both Rood days were regarded as terms.1526 Dumfries B. Ct. 87b.
