Satisfactour, adj. [MF satisfactoire (1495 in Larousse), med. L. satisfactorius ‘atoning (theol.)’ (c1225 in Latham), f. L. satisfacere to satisfy.] Serving to make satisfaction or atonement for sin (cf. Satisfactio(u)n(e n. 2). —c1490 Irland Asl. MS 23/20.
