Sissok, n. [? Sc. pet form of Cis, Cecily, by analogy with Kittok, pet form of Katherine. Denton Fox, in The Poems of Robert Henryson (OUP, 1981) 218, suggests that sissok ‘might be a nonce-form derived from sister, with a humorous -ok suffix to match the hens’ names.'] A woman of low character; a concubine, mistress. = Kittok n. — a1500 Henr. Fab. 533 (Bann.).
