Sled-bed, Slet-bed. [? Sled n. or ? cf. 18th c. Eng. slat a long narrow strip of wood.] A bed of some sort, in contradistinction to a Standand bed ? that may (like a sled) slide under the higher bedstead (cf. Eng. truckle-bed) or ? constructed of slats. —1604 Reliq. Antiq. Sc. 2.
