Superexpens, n. Also: supperexpense. Pl. also superexpenssis. [Expens n. 2.] Expenditure in excess of income or receipts; out-of-pocket expenses. 1572–3 Thirds of Benefices xxxiii.]
[As the accounts [sc. of the Exchequer] were audited, provision was made for the reimbursement of the collectors' ‘superexpenses’ by the assignation to them of certain ‘rests,’ and for proceedings against ‘horners’sing. 1508 Treas. Acc. IV 141.
