(Superficiary,) n. Pl. superficiaries. [e.m.E. superficiary adj. (1615) of or pertaining to the surface, n. (1656) a person owning property erected on another's ground, late L. superficiārius.] One who owns property on (the surface of) another's ground. —1648 Sc. Hist. Rev. XIII 384.
