Superterranean, adj. (n.). [19th c. Eng. superterranean, L. super- and -terra.] a. adj. That lives above, or on the surface of, the earth. b. absol. as noun. One who lives above ground, a human being (once, as opposed to a subterranean being.) —1691 Kirk Secr. Commonw. (1933) 69.
