Tertan(g, Tersan, -ing, n. Also: teirsan, tercian, tertiam. [ME tertian(e (1423) a liquid measure = 84 gallons. Cf. Terc(e n. 4.] A cask or barrel containing twenty-four gallons, chiefly for wine.1446 Aberd. B. Rec. MS IV 457 (4 Nov.).
