Under lair, n. [Lair n.3] The floor of a peat bank. The quot. has been used at Lair n.3 (q.v. for a longer version) as an example of lair, however, the repetition of under lair in the same context strongly suggests that under attached to mos should be understood as also attaching to lair. —1677 Rec.
