Vane glori(o)us, -gloreous, adj. Also: vayn glorious, vaineglorious, wanglorious. [e.m.E. vaingloriouse (c1510), vayne glorious (a1553), OF vana-, vaneglorious, med. L. vaniglorius.] a.
