1. tr. To summon for trial on an appointed day. — a1578 Pitsc. I. 65/9.
He caussit thame to be adiornit to wnderly the law

2. To adjourn. —a1578 Pitsc. II. 301/13 (the parliament was adiorned). 1648 Acts VI. ii. 88/2 (act adjurneing the parliament).
