Bandelier, Bandolier, n. Also: bandileir(e, -(i)lier, -eler, -eleir, -elyar, -elyr, -al(l)ier. [e.m.E. bandollier (a 1577), bandilier, -leer, -lear, etc … later bandoleer, -lier.] A shoulderbelt for supporting a musket, with attachments for holding the charges or cartridges.1612 Wedderb.
