Thay had grantit wnto thame ane lettere of deikenheid for the weill of thair craft 1654 Glasgow B. Rec. II. 300.
[The council] ordanis the fleschours to produce thair lettre of deikinheid the nixtt meitting 1656 Irving Hist. Dumbart. 534.
The crafts of the said burgh sould injoy the lyke fredome, priviledge and deaconhead
