Dry ware, Drywair, n. Also: war(re, vare, waire, vair. [Dry a., used in contrast to ‘wet’ = liquid.]

1. Such goods or articles of merchandise as were commonly packed in barrels for transport by sea. Also pl., and attrib. with geir, gudis, kettell. 1546 Edinb. B. Rec. II. 120.
