Jow, n.1 Also: Jowe, Jou. [ME. Jow ( 14th c.), Juw, Juu, Ju (a 1300), Gyu (c 1275), plur. Joues, Jowes (a 1340), Juwis, Juues, Juus (a 1300), Giwis (c 1175), OF. giu, gyu, giue. The more common Sc. form, and after the 14th c. chiefly or only Sc. Cf. Jew n.]
