Kindil(l, v. Also: kyndil(l, -yll, -el(l, kind-, kyndle. [ME. kinndlenn (Orm), kindel, -le, also kundle, appar. f. ON. kynda to kindle. A common Sc. var. is Kendil(l.] To kindle, in lit. and fig. uses.
