(Likewise,) Likwise, Lyk(e)wise, adv. Also: lyikand -wis, -vis(e, -wys(e, -wyis, -wyes, -vyse, -vyis, -wiese, -weis. [Late ME. and e.m.E. lyke- (a 1460), likwyse (1489), lyke-, likewise, shortened f. in like wise (see Like a. A 2 a (2), Elike- and Inlikewise). Chiefly written as one word.]
