Onywis(e, n. phr. (adv.). Also: onye-, oni- and -wys(e, -wyis, -wyes. [ME. aniȝewise (c 1200), e.m.E. anywise (1660), also e.m.E. in any wyse (1472), OE. on ǽniᵹe wīsan. Cf. Ony-way and Onywayis.] a. adv. In any way, by any means. a1400 Leg. S. xxxvi. 752.
