Pantré, -ie, n. Also: -ee, -(e)y; panitré or paintré, -ie, -y; panandrie, -trie; pannetrie; panterie. [ME. and e.m.E. pantrie (1438), -e, -y, panetrie (a 1300), panterie (Manning), paintree (1572), AF. panetrie, OF. paneterie, med. L. panetaria, -teria, pannetria. (Cf. Panetar(e n.)] A storeroom for the bread of a household, also for its linen, cutlery, plate, and the like.Also the royal officers maister of (also in) (the) pantre, also of court pantre, ȝeman of the pantre.(1) 1390 Exch.
