Parpal(l, Perpall, n. Also: porp- and -ale, -el(l, -ill. [Sc. var. of Parpan n. Also in the mod. south Sc. dial. as pairple.? Uncommon in this form north of the Tay valley: see quot. 1593, sense a, for our only northern example.]
