Unȝeo(u)n, -yeo(u)n, n. Also: -ȝeo(u)ne, -ȝon(e, -ȝoun, -ȝown, uneȝeon, ungyeoun, unyown, -yone, -yun, -yean, union, wnȝounn, vunȝon, yngȝon, wyngȝeone, -ȝeoin, ȝungeon, onyon. [ME and e.m.E. unyonn (north., 1356-7), vniown (Wyclif), ynon (c1460), vnyon (1545), ynion (1562), union (1688), f. as Onȝeon n.] An onion. Also attrib. = Ingon(e n., Ingȝo(u)n n., Onȝeon n.(a) ?14.. Ship Laws c. 4 (H1).
