Upbring, v. Also: upbryng, wpbring. P.t. and p.p. also up(e)brocht, upbroucht, -bro(gh)t. [ME and e.m.E. up-broȝt(e p.p. (both c1250), vpbrynge (c1440); Bring v.] tr.
1. To bring up, nurture, rear (a child or animal). Chiefly p.p., freq. with Nuris v. and Nurisch(e v., qq.v. for further examples. = Bring v. 6. Cf. also Up adv. 13. b. Const. in (be) a habit, manner of living, etc.pres. 1562–3 Linlithgow Sheriff Ct. 20 March.
