Upthrow, -throu, Wpthrow, adv. and prep. [Up adv., Thro(u)ch prep. and Thro(u)ch(e adv.] Upwards through (a place, etc.). Chiefly in contrast to Doun-throw adv. and prep. —adv. 1481 Peebles B. Rec. I 189 (see Doun-throw adv. and prep.).
