Cf. the Stirling place-name Raploch, earlier Raplach (1361), Roppelache (1359), with which however there is no firm evidence to connect this word.] a. noun. Only in Lynd.: A coarse undyed woollen cloth. b. adj. Coarse, rough; roughly made.a. 1530 Lynd. Test. Pap. 1045.
