Ros(e)-water, Rois-water, n. Also: -watter, -waltyr. [ME and e.m.E. rose water (1398); Ros(e n. and water. Cf. MDu. rose(n)-, rooswater.] Water distilled from roses, or impregnated with essence of rose, used for perfuming, flavouring, etc. 1456 Hay II 143/31.
