Palestrall, Palestriall, a.2 (Appar. erron. use of Palestral(la.1, perh. taken as an adj. corresp. to Palace n., = palatial. The first quotation may be due to a misinterpretation of the expression ‘pleyes palestral’ in Chaucer Troylus v. 304 and in Douglas (see Palestral(l a.1). In the second the ending has appar. been influenced by wordslike celestiall and terrestriall, which sometimes appear in similar kinds of context.) — c1500-c1512 Dunb. lxxxv. 73.
