Clatter, Clattir, v. Also: clater, clattre. [ME. clater, clatre(n, claterin (a 1225), OE. *clatrian (clatrung vbl. n.), MDu. klateren, etc.]
1. intr. To make a loud rattling sound. 1513 Doug. vii. xi. 107.
